Dust Module Maintenance

What to know about maintaining your Dust Module for reliable long-term performance.

The maintenance requirements for Clarity Dust Modules are minimal due to their lack of moving parts. However, occasionally a device may have an issue that requires troubleshooting. To see whether any of your devices need attention, check out the Understanding the Device Status Details article.

Following optional routine maintenance can help prevent measurement failure, but it’s not required:

  • Dust removal: If dust accumulates on the device, gently wipe it with a soft cloth. Do not use any cleaning solutions, and be careful not to scratch the instrument's surface.
  • Ice or snow removal: If ice or snow builds up on the device, allow it to melt naturally. Do not use tools to forcibly remove it, as this could damage the unit.

These simple maintenance steps help ensure the Dust Module continues to function properly without risking damage to the sensitive equipment.
