Using the Replace action allows you to seamlessly merge streams of data from two Nodes when you need to replace hardware.
The replace action allows to replace a Node due to faults or end of its operational life while maintaining uninterrupted monitoring at one site. It ensures that data from the same monitoring site continues to flow to the same Datasource, seamlessly swapping out the monitoring Node.
To replace a Node:
1. In the left panel, navigate to Devices > Nodes.
2. Select the Node that you wish to replace from the Configured Nodes table.
3. Click on the "Actions" button.
3. Select "Replace" from the dropdown.
4. Select a Node in inventory from the dropdown to be used as replacement.
5. Click "Confirm".
After confirmation, the old Node will be moved to Inventory, and the new Node will be configured at its location. The Datasource will continue running, with measurements now coming from the new Node.
