What the different user roles on Dashboard are and the permissions they grant.
When adding a user to the organization, the Org Admin can assign them different roles, which grant permission to perform an increasing number of actions.
The roles that can be assigned to a user are the following:
Org Admin
Org Admins manage the organization and its resources. Each org can have multiple Org Admins. Clarity will assign the first Org Admin who can then add other users to their Org
We recommend assigning this role to the air quality monitoring project manager or supervisor.
Org Admins can add and manage users and edit organization information, give applications access to your data via API, configure devices, edit datasource metadata (name, group and tags) and view air quality measurements and device status.
To see how to add, edit, or remove users as the Org Admin, please check out this Article: How to manager your organization's users
Technician
Technicians deploy devices to the field and keep them operational over time.
We recommend assigning this role to a user that will need to deploy Clarity Nodes and Modules and update device geolocation when devices are moved.
Technicians can configure devices, edit datasource metadata, view air quality measurements and device status,Analyst
Analysts inspect air quality measurements to find patterns and answer environmental questions.
We recommend assigning this role to users that are tasked with data analysis but are not involved with deployment of devices in the field.
Analysts can view air quality measurements and device status and edit datasource metadata (name, group and tags).
Observer
Observers have the same visibility of analysts, but cannot edit any information on Dashboard.
We recommend assigning this role to users that are tasked with data analysis but are not supposed to modify datasource name, group and tags.
Observers can view air quality measurements and device status.
Guest
Guests are observers that are given access to select parts of the monitoring network.
We recommend assigning this role to users that need access to a selected subset of datasources.
Guests can view air quality measurements of a subset of Datasources, assigned to them by the Org Admin.
