How to troubleshoot

Low Battery

If battery charge drops below 20%

 

A few reasons for low battery are possible:

Insufficient solar to charge the device. 

  • Please check the solar panel angle/direction and shade on the device.
  • Consider re-siting the device if the Low Battery is affecting device uptime. 

Sampling frequency is too high

If you are seeing this alarm along with a 'too cold/hot to charge' alarm, you may need to retrieve the device to recharge it via the included mains power adapter.

Too cold to charge battery

At least 75% of the readings in the last 24 hours have a T below 0°C

If battery levels are high, usually no action is needed as temperatures will fluctuate.

If the battery level is low, data upload may be reduced. Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the “Low Battery” alarm if device uptime is critical. 

Too hot to charge battery

At least  75% of the readings in the last 24 hours have a T above 40°C

If battery levels are high, usually no action is needed as temperatures will fluctuate.

If the battery level is low, data upload may be reduced. Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the “Low Battery” alarm if device uptime is critical.
